NEW YORK STATE ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE PRINCIPLES

Objectives of the workgroup (drawn from Adam Gigandet's message on the subject) are:
  • revisit/realign the EA goals associated with the updated strategic plan to establish the business strategy/vision (current and future state)
  • review framework and consider choosing and aligning with a standard EA framework model (I am most familiar with the Gartner EA framework)
  • revisit principles (provide guidance) that may be falling short of the objective to establish ‘future state architecture vision’, and/or are establishing policy (specific actionable direction)
  • further the definitions of the principles to consistently state: title, short description, rationale/justification, and implications.
  • further define the technology architecture viewpoint (products, configurations, infrastructure) and consider next steps drill down into the components, domains.
  • consider any candidates for new principles (e.g. possibly more measurable areas such as SLA/performance, QA, data quality, etc.)
